How can I prove that I own a property?

We will only be able to give proof of ownership of land or property if it is registered with us.

The way you can get proof will depend on whether you have the full postal address or not. Some pieces of land are difficult to identify without a postal address.

So please choose from the following options:

Proving ownership

Most official requests for proof of ownership will ask you for an official copy of the register.

To get an 'official copy' of the register, which is admissible in court, you will need to complete a form OC1 and send it to us by post.

Any register you download from our Find a Property site, won't be an official copy of the register, and so can't be used as evidence in a court.
