Twitter policy
On this page you'll find guidance on how we maintain our Twitter accounts and what you can expect from interacting with us on Twitter.
@LandRegGov
Our primary twitter account (@LandRegGov) is managed by our Digital and Enquiries teams. Follow this account to interact with Land Registry and see tweets about publications, important announcements, data and publicity campaigns.
At present we only send out tweets in English but we will accept messages and respond accordingly in Welsh, in line with our Welsh language scheme.
@LRTechSupport
Our technical support account (@LRTechSupport) is administered by our Service Desk. Follow this account for support with Land Registry Business E-Services (Portal), Business Gateway, and Find a Property.
Availability
Our Twitter accounts are proactively monitored and managed between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Twitter may occasionally become unavailable. Land Registry cannot accept responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.
Confidentiality and security
We will not ask you to disclose personal or payment information via Twitter or by email. If you receive such a message, do not respond – it is not from Land Registry and may be malicious.
Unfortunately we cannot discuss individual land registration cases over Twitter.
Replies and direct messages
We welcome feedback and ideas from our followers and always aim to add value to conversations where we can.
We will read all inbound messages and ensure that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people in Land Registry. Due to resource constraints we won't always be able to reply individually to the messages we receive.
We prefer not to send or receive Direct Messages, to keep conversations open and public. If you need to contact us for official correspondence visit our Contact us page.
Land Registry is bound by the Civil Service Code and cannot engage on issues of party politics.
Following
If you follow any of our twitter accounts we will not automatically follow you back. This helps to keep discussions open by limiting the use of Direct Messages.
@LandRegGov and @LRTechSupport will follow organisations of relevance to Land Registry, UK Government and Land Registration, and may follow individuals where appropriate. If we follow a Twitter account, it does not imply endorsement of any kind by Land Registry.
We will unfollow accounts we believe are malicious or spam.
