Historical data
This year we will release historical Price Paid Data, consisting of 17 million definitive records, under an Open Government License.
- On 28 June 2013 – we will publish historical Price Paid Data (PPD) in CSV format. This will be available as linked data from July. This first release will contain records of the price paid for every residential property sold at full market value lodged for registration between 1 January 2009 to 31 January 2012 in England and Wales.
- By November 2013 we will publish the remainder of the historical PPD that covers the period 1 January 1995 to 31 December 2008.
The staggered release of the historical PPD will allow for re-formatting of the data from 1995 to 2009 to bring it more into line with the post-2009 data. Find out more about historic price paid data and aggregated price paid data reports for a specified geographical area.
Privacy
The publication and use of price paid data is freely licensed using the OGL and will be free at the point of use. In advance of publication, a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) was conducted in March 2012 and a further review was conducted in June 2012. Following on from the recommendations in the June 2012 we carried out a further evaluation of the impact of the publication of the PPI. For further information please see the Privacy Impact Assessment Review - December 2012.
Section 11(1) of the Data Protection Act 1998 gives individuals the right to prevent the use of their personal data for direct marketing purposes. You can opt out of receiving direct marketing material. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions on the ICO's website.
