Fee Order 2012 – Land Registry reduces fees
On 22 October 2012 we will reduce our fees by an average of 10 per cent under our new fee order.
Reducing our fees enables us to pass on savings we have made as a result of a major restructuring programme to reduce costs across the organisation – our 'Accelerated Transformation Programme'. We are lowering scale and fixed fees for applications relating to every statutory service.
To prepare for the new fee order, we encourage you to familiarise yourself with the new fees and make any necessary changes to your processes and systems to ensure you pay the correct fees with your applications.
The reduced fees will apply to:
- information services – reduced by £1
- scale fees – reduced by £10
- register alteration – a fixed fee of £40.
As a result, the fee for a purchase of an average-priced property (£161,777 – June 2012 House Price Index), including information and registration fees, will fall from £218 to £204.
We will keep you updated on developments as we progress towards implementing the new fee order.
By 22 October, we will update our fees calculator to reflect the fee changes.
Our Accelerated Transformation Programme, adopted in the wake of the property market slump of 2008, aimed to ensure we became the smaller, leaner, flexible, customer-focused and sustainable organisation we needed to be to deliver our objectives in a changing market.
The resulting efficiency savings are being passed on to you in the form of lower fees. Visit our fees pages for more detailed information:
