Land Registry considers provision of Local Land Charges services

Land Registry is exploring the possibility of widening its range of information services to include searches of the Local Land Charges Register and other information currently supplied by local authorities.

We have conducted market research and discussions with central and local government stakeholders as well as representatives of our customers and suppliers. This will inform a business case which will be presented to Land Registry’s Board for consideration in November 2011 following the Concept Viability Day in September.

No decisions about the viability of this proposal will be taken until the business case has been fully considered and approved by Ministers. We will make an announcement as soon as possible thereafter
