Update on Land Registry Feasibility Study

As announced in October 2010, Ministers asked Ministry of Justice (MoJ) officials to lead a feasibility study to scope out the opportunities presented by expanding private sector involvement in Land Registry. This was in response to the Cabinet Office review of Arm's Length Bodies.

The findings of the study have now been reported to Ministers. Given the importance of Land Registry to the wider housing market, thorough and careful consideration will be given to those findings before any decisions or announcements are made about the future direction for the organisation.
